Maximum building permissions granted for projects in Wakad
Wakad, a locality situated in the vicinity of IT hub and educational institutions, has been in the limelight lately.
The locality has recently got maximum number of building permissions for projects for the fourth consecutive year.
It has come at a right time when development of Wakad was the most need of the hour. It has come as a boon for Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) as the civic body is uncertain about its cash flow after the abolition of octroi and traders opposing the local body tax (LBT).
The last four years have seen maximum number of building permissions granted for this area.
The locality has become of the favourite investment destinations among the developers due to its proximity to Rajiv Gandhi Information Technology Park in Hinjewadi.
PCMC has granted around 902 building permissions in the area in this fiscal year generating revenue of Rs 265 crore.
The individual number of building permissions in Wakad ward include: Wakad: 160, Pimpale Nilakh: 72, Chinchwad: 85, Pimpri: 49, Bhosari: 53, Dighi: 47, Ravet: 47, Moshi: 46 and Chikhli: 34.
These building permissions include clearance given to construction of 106 high-rise properties in Wakad.
The numbers are quiet different as compared to last financial years. A total of 135 building permissions were granted in 2010-11 and 126 were granted in 2011-12.
Furthermore, as per data provided by the property tax department, Chinchwad stands second after Wakad with 85 building permissions.
