Reprimanding GMADA (Greater Mohali Area Development Authority) for its inability to compensate the farmers, a local court directed today the authority to public sale its building and merchandise. GMADA had recently acquired land in Sector 81 for Knowledge City. The court of Additional District and sessions Judge, Manjot Kumar ordered the attachment of two GMADA bank accounts. The Court has given April 5 as the next hearing date. “If GMADA does not want to auction its property it will have to pay Rs 5 crore to the affected farmers within two months”, the court ruled.
