Noida flat buyers appeal to governor
Noida Extension Flat Owner Welfare Association (NEFOWA) writes to governor on non implementation of “UP Apartment Act” in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
NEFOWA, an association of flat buyers in Gautam Budh Nagar wrote to UP governor, BL Joshi, demanding his intervention to ensure implementation of the UP Apartment Act in the district. The association voiced concerns that though, the act was passed by the state government in 2010 and its rules framed a year later, its non-implementation in the district has been posing difficulties for home buyers.
The letter to the governor stated, “This act was notified in pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution … and was assented to by the governor of UP.” The association alleged in their letter that the interests of “at least 5 lakh families who purchased flats in the region” are being compromised by the non-implementation of the act by Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway. The association also sent a copy of the letter to the Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav. Copies were also sent to UP Urban Development Minister, Azam Khan, and to the UP Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner.
The letter brought forth the plight of homebuyers in the area, who were forced to run from one department to another at the offices of the three authorities seeking news on status of approvals of layouts and project plans.
