Adventure Park to be built by NDMC
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has plans to develop and eco-friendly Park in Delhi. The location selected for the park is on Kushak Nala located at Sardar Patel Marg. The park will have a lot of things like rope-based sports activities to offer. The civic body plans to build it under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and it will be built without hurting the ecology.
OP Mishra, Director (Projects), NDMC informs that according to the plan, no tree should be damaged or nailed and the park shall have activities like rope-based activities like flying fox, monkey crawl, bungee jumping, among others. The park is going to be 100% natural and no metal like steel or synthetic material would go into making the park. Also, the stretches adjoining the drain (around half a kilometre long) will be developed to make it more attractive for the public.
The civic body has been approached by the Adventure Tour Operators’ Association of India (ATOAI) to develop such a park. An Expression of Interest (EOI) has been circulated by the civic body for the project. An official informed that French Standard NF S 52902-1 and Standard NF S 52902-2 will have to be adhered to while creating the park. NDMC has received interest from two parties. They have proposed interesting rides like carousel, the Ferris wheel and the Columbus to be part of the project.
