No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jul 17, 2014

A central scheme which is a decade old scheme introduced by the previous UPA government for providing urbanisation in rural areas will soon be taken in for implementation for Gujarat’s Rurban model all across India. The Union Budget of 2014-15 which was presided over by finance minister Arun Jaitley, past week did not mention any allocation of budget for central scheme PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) but rather it introduced the Rurban Mission, which is a similar project running in Gujarat and also announced an initial allocation of an amount of Rs 100 crore.

A senior government official said that the new government wants to replicate the Rurban Mission project running in Gujarat at the national level to provide urban amenities in rural regions of the country. They are also planning to amend PURA into the Rurban Mission.

The programme is indicated to provide physical connectivity through the development of roads, communication network is going to fill up the electronic connectivity and building of technical and professional institutions in an integrated way is going to bridge the knowledge gap and also enhance economic connectivity. This way the government is looking forward to amend the Rurban Mission programme in all the rural parts of India.
