Thiruvananthapuram: ICTAK scouting space to set up its facility in Technopark
The recently launched ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) is looking for appropriate space in Technopark to set up its facility. ICTAK has been launched chiefly with the objective of equipping gradates with the requisite skills and knowledge to meet the requirements of the IT/ITeS industry.
With regard to the space being scouted by ICTAK in Technopark to set up its facility, one of the senior officials of ICTAK has revealed that the academy is interested in acquiring the space vacated by Infosys in Tejaswini.
However, the official has also disclosed alongside that the Technopark board is apparently showing a greater inclination in providing the mentioned space – which ICTAK has zeroed in on – to an offshore division of a UK-based insurance firm.
Asserting that ICTAK has found the space previously occupied by Infosys as optimum for meeting its requirements to set up a facility at Technopark, the official also said that the academy is essentially seeking a space of between 6,000 sq ft and 8,000 sq ft, for accommodating its classrooms and offices.
Noting that ICTAK is awaiting a response from Technopark with regard to the Infosys-vacated space it wants for its facility, the official said: “We requested for it but Technopark hasn’t confirmed.”
