Two flyovers in Delhi causing traffic problems
The two half flyovers that is located on the Ring Road near Punjabi Bagh area of NCR has stopped serving their purpose of easing traffic a few years ago. At present, the two flyovers that is located at a distance of about 500 m along the same road, creates chaos rather than streamline the traffic.
Because of the severe congestion and poor road engineering, the gridlocks have become a routine affair on this particular stretch. The public works department has announced that it will shortly be appointing a consultant who will suggest what kind of interventions are needed to ease the traffic flow along this road. This work may also include building parallel flyovers along both the existing ones.
Constructed about 15 years back, the flyovers were built in order to solve the traffic jams on this road due to many red lights. However the traffic has since then increased many times and the flyovers are not at all sufficient to cater to the demand of the people. The traffic problems have not been solved that was expected to have gone away with post the construction work of these to flyovers.
