Cidco not ready to fund toll plaza
The Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar who had a wish for Cidco to pay PWD Rs 1,220 crore so that there is no need for the Kamothe toll plaza may remain unfulfilled. The Cidco administration is in no mood to part with even a penny.
Its officials say that the agency is a self-sustaining commercial organization and so such a big sum cannot be used up on a single road project. Pawar had called for the scrapping of the toll plaza project at a party meeting in Vashi last month.
The Cidco officials in private said it is not the agency’s job to bail out the government. Just because the organization is cash-rich, it does not mean that they look after the whole of India. It is an organization which has a self-financing model and funds its own development projects. The aforesaid was stated by an official who did not want to give his credentials.
Any kind of reaction from the government has yet not been recorded. Hopefully the toll plaza will not be stalled and the government will find other ways to construct the toll plaza. Further details will be available only after the government sits to resolve the matter.
