Smartphone Apps are going viral with the real estate developers

Smart phones have become a way of life for not only the youngsters, but the business houses too are targeting the prospective buyers using various apps. With more people socialising online than with people next door, builders are launching apps that try to connect you with your neighbours. This trend sounds funny but is true.

Over the years the urban India has been living in silos and community living has become a passé. The builders are launching apps that will create communities and even help you pay the bills and lodge complaints about the maintenance.  Shyam Kumar the president of the residents’ welfare association at Bangalore Sobha Hillview stated that they had launched a community app that can be downloaded on a smartphone. The residents pay their dues online through the community group across the globe. This has helped the owners a lot and the default rate has gone down to 5 %.

India’s biggest property developer, DLF has launched an app called DLF 5 Assist, which opens a real-time communication channel with the facility management team of the owners’ residential complex. This app also allows the users to lodge complaints about maintenance issues at the click of a button.

Aakash Ohri the director of business development at DLF stated that the suggestions or complaints via this app are directed to the requisite department electronically. Also, the wide variety of shopping and F&B (food and beverages) delivery options on the app makes it even more useful and beneficial to them. The residents are very happy with this move.

Property portal CommonFloor.com also has an app that is already being used by over 100,000 gated communities and over a million residents across the country.
