Odisha land scam might come under the radar of CBI probe

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 21, 2014

BJP today demanded a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation)probe into the allotment of land and houses. This was a big jolt to the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as BJP criticised the C.M for the alleged cover up bid in the land scam. Role of the political leaders had now surfaced during the inquiry into the chit fund scandal by the central agency CBI.

Senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra spat venom and said that the state government should hand over the probe of irregularities in land allotment to CBI. This should be done so that the CBI can unravel the role of the political leaders and the land mafia.

He further added that the state government had rejected the demand for a CBI probe into the chit fund scam a year ago. The state government had claimed that the crime branch police was inquiring into the matter properly. After the Supreme Court order, the CBI inquiry was conducted into the scandal. This has unfurled the involvement of political leaders in chit fund scam.

Mohapatra also accused the C.M Patnaik and stated that the Chief Minister remained silent in chit fund scam and now in land scam. This is not acceptable. Due to the involvement of his party colleagues in land scam, the C.M had chosen to remain silent which is not the sign of good and clean leadership.
