FIRs filed against persons for filing false affidavit to acquire HUDA properties
Legal action against 36 persons was initiated by the office of the HUDA (Haryana Urban Development Authority) Estate Officer as they acquired plots against “false” affidavits over the past several years. Estate Officer Satpal Singh stated that 16 FIRs have already been registered on HUDA’s complaint and very soon they will register the rest. The plot holders have been booked for cheating and other offences under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC.
The police took this action against an FIR filed by one Dharam Singh Yadav of Rewari in 2013, where he had alleged that the allotment of plots was done in a fraudulent manner to several persons. The move follows the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s directions on the misuse of reserve quota by several residents.
This is, perhaps, the first time that the affidavits submitted by the plot holders in HUDA sectors are being probed. This seems to be a scam which will be unearthed soon as it is alleged that there could also be several applicants or beneficiaries who acquired a plot in violation of norms. As per norms, a person owning a plot or house in a HUDA sector in the state cannot apply for plots in a reserved category such as Defence or government servants.
Many of it was booked under the names of their spouses and other immediate family members.
