Work on road projects to start
Former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday asked road construction department (RCD) minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh to give details of irregularities committed in starting the construction of roads worth Rs 200 crore in the state without going through due process.
RCD was earlier under former CM Nitish Kumar, he said. Modi said the construction of roads was hastily started on the eve of the parliamentary elections without administrative sanction since Nitish, in the capacity of the state CM, JD (U) leader and in charge of RCD, wanted to win votes.
In fact, the roads worth Rs 200 crore and electrification of villages in 27 districts under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Mission were announced and inaugurated without completing the due process only with an eye on gaining votes, Modi said.
The road construction is needed as fast as possible. The in availability of roads has cause a lot of problems this is why the government is looking for the fast developing work on these road projects which have been delayed for so long. Once these projects are done many problems would get solved.
