No more standing in long queues, now MCG house tax will be paid online
According to the reports of officials of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), the website of the municipality website is soon going facilitate online payment for the payment of house property tax and other related fees too.
A proposal was introduced some months back, but it was not passed as a plan and was not implemented. However, the authorities of MCG claimed that things are more planned this time. They also said that the tax department and the IT team were working on this idea more seriously and frequently. The whole notion behind this idea is to totally revamp the entire MCG website and make it more useful and tech-savvy for people. The mode of online payment gateway is the part of this idea. According to other officials and their experience, there are many people who will pay house tax on time, but are not able to due to thought of standing in long queues and form filling formalities. Therefore, if the online payment option gets launched, there are significant chances that people will pay their house tax on time, and this will definitely raise the tax collection records.
Very soon, all property owners will get a unique identification number. One of the officials added that with this unique identification number in hand – the person will be able to pay the taxes irrespective of whether we send him late fee notice or not. All the residents should pay their house property tax and other fees before July 31 every year. However, if they are not able to pay the tax on time, they will be penalized and strict action will be taken against them.
If other cities too are to follow this suit, it will definitely ensure a hassle free and voluntary tax payments from many property owners and thereby a smooth processing at the offices.
