Dehradun civic body fines over 10 commercial property owners
DEHRADUN: The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) has inflicted huge penalties on 15 commercial properties for disrupting the self-assessment procurement while repaying their property tax.
A DMC team conveyed a casual investigation to confirm the authenticity of the area square meters sent by 50 leading commercial properties of Dehradun.
During the verification procedure, the DMC team found that 15 of they were blameworthy of infringing the self-assessment command.
If anyone is found infringing, then one has to pay a fine which is four times more formidable than the amount of his/her genuine property tax.
Notices were assigned to 15 violators and DMC has inflicted fines on them worth over Rs 6 crores.
DMC commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey stated, “During our verification journey on Tuesday, we affirmed that 15 commercial property owners were tampering with the self-assessment procurement, therefore, we have determined to inflict fines on them which is four times more expensive than their genuine property tax. In the future, we will administer random depositions at other places too.”
