Delhi Civic Agency introduces Amnesty Scheme to recover Property Tax
The civic agencies in Delhi have planned to introduce new property tax schemes for the welfare of the property tax receivership. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is providing one last chance for the individuals who have dues pending in concern with the property tax. Rateable Value Method (RVM) is used by the officials to calculate property tax. The property tax scheme is likely to be introduced by the end of this October and the validity will hold the same concern till December 31st , 2011.
The chairman of the property tax committee, MCD, Ved Prakash Gupta reported saying that this scheme will be the last chance for the builders, owners to clear all the dues concerned to the property tax. The officials are expecting individuals to make best use of this property tax scheme. However MCD is back to work, going round a thorough check over the property tax revenue from the newly constructed buildings. One of the MCD officials reported saying that MCD has surveyed nearly lakhs of properties under unauthorized areas. The estimation is that another 10 lakh new properties will be added to the property tax list by the end of financial year 2012.
