Property card is a new mantra from now on and it will no more be “Khata certificates“. According to the property holders in Bangalore city, the way government maintenance of property papers is turning situations from bad to worse. If any property buyer wants information on their property from the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), its unbelievable that they have to wait for nearly a year instead this scheme aims in providing complete information of individual’s property. One copy of this information will be under government authority and the other will be with the property owner.

The implementation of Urban Property Ownership Records (UPOR) project, property will be surveyed, property records will be verified and the land owners will be issued a Property Records Card (PRC) respectively. PRC is a unique Identification Card to all the properties, it entails information like; property area name, location of property, owner’s name, tenure information, mortgage details, and also history of property transactions. The government in concern with BDA will soon introduce Property card and the khata and sale deed papers will have be renewed by all the property holders in the city.
