Adoption of open spaces in Mumbai is getting pricey!
After the caretaker scheme has been implemented, the adoption of the open spaces in Mumbai is getting tougher and costlier!
The civic authority had earlier proposed to reduce the minimum bidding price but the groups which take care of open spaces feel it is the adoption policy which is stringent.
Bandra Bandstand Residents’ Trust which takes care of Bandstand sea front and the Bandra fort garden stated that they have taken the initiative of taking care of the spaces for ten years without any help from the civic body themselves.
The groups alleged that Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) should offer some financial help to maintain these spaces.
Also, Hillside Residents’ Welfare Association (HIRWA) is struggling hard to maintain a 4,000 sqm open ground in Mulund.
