Cement prices increase
Due to less supply and delayed monsoon, cement costs rose to Rs 55 per bag across markets.
A source said the hike will not stay long since it is due to supply shortage and onset monsoon.
South has witnessed a mixed trend with Hyderabad and Bangalore seeing a correction of Rs 5 per bag, and Chennai and Kochi seeing an increases of Rs 5-10.
Prices have risen by Rs 15 per bag and could see a further increase, said a Gujarat based dealer.
Prices in the north have witnessed a rapid growth. A Noida-based cement dealer said they have increased prices by Rs40 per bag, adding the current wholesale price is around Rs300 per bag.
