Farmers demand service road before completion of Yamuna Expressway
Farmers residing on both sides of Yamuna Expressway have forwarded their demands to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Their main demand is that the Yamuna Expressway should not be opened till their service road parallel to it is developed for connectivity of villages along the Expressway.
The proposed service road runs along Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida till Agra. They have also demanded Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to hike the compensation of 64.7 percent to all Yamuna Expressway farmers, at par with the compensation for Greater Noida farmers by GNIDA (Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority).
The other minor demands include that local farmers should get toll-free movement on Yamuna Expressway and they should get 50 percent reservation in industrial jobs and admission to colleges set up here.

Government should not charge toll-tax from pilgrims visiting from Delhi to Mathura or Vrindavan as that would be a sort of Jajiya imposed during Mughal period. After all it is the duty of government to provide passage, road for which it already charges Road Tax. Charging Toll from pilgrims amount to commercialisation of road – a public facility which is immoral and un-ethical.
