Ghaziabad: Fire breaks out at residential building; several cars gutted
A fire broke out in a residential building in Ghaziabad on Friday afternoon, gutting a number of cars which were parked in the basement of the building.
The residential building where the fire incident took place is the ATS residential society in Nitikhand area of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The fire broke out in the basement of the building at around 1 pm on Friday afternoon.
According to the details shared by a senior official of the Fire Department in Ghaziabad, 16 fire tenders were rushed immediately to the residential building in Indirapuram area to douse the flames. Upon reaching the fire site, firemen instantly took charge of the situation, to extinguish the fire. A few more fire tenders were pressed into action later.
With regard to how the fire actually broke out at the residential building, Ghaziabad Chief Fire Officer AP Singh said that the exact cause of the fire has not been ascertained thus far.
Apprising the public about the losses resulting from the massive fire, Singh said that though the fire incident at the residential complex did not lead to any loss of life, several cars were gutted in the fire; and property worth crores of rupees was also damaged.
