On Thursday, the Delhi High Court directed the Delhi government to file an affidavit on matters of illegal constructions in the Sainik Firms. All important details and bits of information have been stated in the affidavit concerning all the meetings held since the 3rd of February regarding this cause.

The Delhi government councilĀ  Zubeda Begum was asked by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog to file an affidavit. This would contain all the details of the meetings as well as the questionnaires that were sent to the South Delhi Municipal Corporations along with their response. August 6th has been fixed as the next day for hearing.

A particular NGO had pleaded to the government to completely remove illegal construction taking place at Sainik Firms in South Delhi. The court also said that the only way in which they can stop such unauthorized construction is by demolishing and breaking down all these buildings.

The NGO, Paardarshita Public Welfare Foundation also stated that despite court orders, thousands of building materials are being brought and hundreds of buildings are being established. Seen on a satellite image obtained from Google Maps, there are about 50 to 60 structures that are illegal and unauthorized.

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has been ordered by the NGO to scrutinize and inspect the site and bring all important pieces of information to the court on the 26th of May. Since hammering and drilling is time consuming, iron rod wielding and pouring concrete will be used as a method of demolition.
