Mumbai finally receives its first Metro
After the wait was finally over, the city of Mumbai finally experienced the rush and joy of the metro ride within six hours of its operation on Sunday itself when Prithviraj Chavan who happens to be the chief minister flagged offs its service. According to one of the Mumbai Metro One Spokesperson, it passes the rideship of about on lakh within around a period of six days of an operation of one whole day.
Earlier in the beginning of the day, Chavan had also launched the services at the 11.4 Versova Andheri Ghatkopar sections, which connects the suburbs of both the east and the west. The launching also included the ADAG chairman, Anil Ambani along with his wife Tina Ambani. The whole process took place at 10:10 am.
Once the launch was over, Mumbai became the fourth city in the country which as metro rail operating currently. Other cities that have Metro include Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi. This has been one of the best developments so far since around 1,00,000 passengers or more have enjoyed the ride on the first day itself.
