Row over dumping waste in Mavallipura
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is facing residents’ agitation against the garbage disposal in the Mavallipura locality and wants Palike to shut down the garbage dump yard in the area.
The villagers staged protest and prevented garbage dumping into the landfill. Mayor D. Venkatesh Murthy has agreed to visit Mavallipura on Thursday.
Health risk is rising in the area as several people have lost their lives. Affected villagers are now demanding free medical health camps to be held regularly in the area.
They also want the BBMP to compensate the villagers who have lost livestock and ensure regular visits by veterinarians.
