Supertech towers demolition stopped by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court put a hold on an order to demolish Supertech’s two under-construction 40-storey towers in the real estate firm’s Emerald Court project. A bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha issued notices on a batch of petitions by the builder preventing the immediate demolition of the two towers. The bench questioned the sanction plan by the authority to raise 40 floors on an area that initially had a sanction only for 9 floors.
The bench was hearing the builder’s plea for immediately staying the Allahabad High Court order on demolition of towers Apex and Ceyane. The developer has also filed an appeal against the HC order. Both the towers have 857 apartments in total and around 600 have been sold.
