World Samskrit Book Fair 2011 in Bangalore
The World Samskrit Book Fair is being organized in Bangalore during Jan 7-10, 2011.Though the entire event will be conducted in a totally immersive samskrit environment where all the volunteers interact in Simple Samskrit, people of all ages can easily understand and enjoy.
The first ever World Samskrit Book Fair will be organized in Bangalore during January 7-10, 2011 (Friday to Monday) at National College ground, Basavanagudi, Bangalore.The public attendance is free for all the activities and book fair.
The Samskrit book fair is a labor of love by a team of Samskrit-loving organizations dedicated to revitalizing the language. It is an effort to revive public interest in Samskrit and to promote it as a language of modern scientific and social discourse.The event is open to the general public of all ages and backgrounds with or without knowledge of the Samskrit language.
There are about 10000 confirmed delegates – scholars, students, karyakartas – coming from 25 states of India.Delegates (book fair visitors from outside Bangalore) can get a delegate pass by paying the delegate fee of Rs. 200/- and Rs. 100/- for student. The fee covers food, accommodation and transportation to/from the venue for four days.

You can also donate to support Samskrit scholars and students to come to the fair. The organizers has appealed to the Samskrit lovers among the general public to help this noble cause of education by donating generously. Here is an opportunity to show your love for the Samskrit language in action and catapult the Samskrit movement to the next level.
- Offer a Hundred per Household for Samskrit: Rs. 100/- per household or per person.
- Sponsor a Delegate: Rs. 1000/- will help meet the food, accommodation of a visiting scholar as well as support part of the conference and exhibition expenses.
- Sponsor 10 Delegates: Rs. 10000/- will support ten such delegates to the event.
How to Donate
You can donate money in Indian Rupees only, in one of the following ways. All donations are tax exempt in India. Due to regulatory restrictions donations via direct transfers from Bank accounts outside India are not accepted. To make the funds transfer from your Bank account in India.
- Electronic Funds Transfer (via NEFT or RTGS) to the Official Bank account of the book fair. The details of bank transfer are in the volunteering page http://www.samskritbookfair.org/?page_id=217
- Demand Draft, cheque or money order drawn in favor of ‘Samskrita Bharati‘, payable in Bangalore. Mention “Book fair donation” in the DD memo. Mail it to Samskrita Bharati, ‘Aksharam’, 8th Cross, 2nd Phase, Girinagar, BANGALORE – 560093, Karnataka, INDIA.
- You can also donate money in cash by visiting the Samskrita Bharati office (address above) or at the book fair venue.
After making the payment fill out the Volunteer Signup form with your details including mailing address and mention the amount you donated therein and submit to receive your donation receipt.

- Book Sale Event: Over 300 new Samskrit Books released, 100 Samskrit-related publishers participating.
- Cultural Programs: Concerts, dramas, puppet shows, model homes, marketplaces – all in Simple Samskrit.
- All India Samskrit Conference: Vaak spardhaa, Seminars, Sammelans of various focus groups.
