Can i avail an interest rate subsidy under the PMAY
Q: Yes, you can avail an interest rate subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme if your annual income is above Rs. 6 lakh and up to Rs. 18 lakh per year. If eligible for the interest subsidy, you have to apply with your lenders for availing the benefit. To be able to do that, you should not own a house in your name. There is lot more to it than just providing houses to everyone. The government has planned to not only build more houses, but to redevelop slums, decrease interest for poor section, involving private sector and also aid urban poor for renovating the existing homes.

Latest Answer: Hi Sufia, As per my knowledge, office of the District Town Planner (Enforcement) has sent a second notice to 17 owners of EWS houses in Sector 54 for illegal constructions in the area.The move comes after TOI reported on November 23 that residents of the sector were filing a PIL demanding action against the violators.

Q: Good news for EWS people that BBMP has taken the initiative to provide quarters to them. How many quaters they are going to construct for EWS people? By when they are going to complete the project?

Latest Answer: The credit does not go alone to BBMP, because Namma BBMP in collaboration with Maverick Holdings are planning for the project. The project will start from January 13 this year and the firm will construct 1,640 quarters within 30 months.
