10 years on, 300 families still owe MHADA
Even 10 years after getting possession of their houses, more than 300 families who own flats in buildings constructed by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) still have not made full payment to the authority.
MHADA sources say that the families owe MHADA about Rs 30.39 crore. The apartments are part of the 462 flats that MHADA had constructed for the economically weaker sections (EWS) at Pratiksha Nagar in Sion.
Of the 462 beneficiary families, only about 95 had cleared their payment at the time of purchasing the flat, while for 48 of them, the allotment process is underway.
