12 apartments in Lucknow have lost their power connection
The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has disconnected the power supply of nearly 12 apartments in Lucknow. According to Lucknow development authority, those apartments had not got their plans sanctioned and they are illegally constructed.
These apartments are in posh residential colonies like Mahanagar and Chinhat without any kind of approval from the development authority. The UP Power Corporation limited has claimed that due to these unplanned constructions, the power crisis is increasing.
To counter the power crisis the government has planned to check all legal connection as well as they start generating power from two new thermal power generation units – Unit-9 of 250 mw Harduaganj power station and 250 mw Unit-5 of Paricha power project.
With these two power generation unit, the total power generation capacity of the state will rise to 4777 Mw.
