123 plots in capital’s prime locations to be transferred to Wakf Board

In Delhi 123 properties, under the control of the Land and Development Office, have been denotified enabling transfers of title to Delhi Wakf Board. The board can take decisions regarding the properties including selling them. These are prime properties in the capital.

Manish Tewari, Minister for Information and Broadcasting informed that the cabinet has approved denotification of 123 properties in Delhi under the control of the L&DO and the Delhi Development Authority and the title has been reverted to the board.

About 60 of these 123 properties, at present, are owned by L&DO under the Urban Development ministry. Rest of the properties are owned by DDA.

A committee of experts under the Central Wakf Council, set up by the Minority Affairs Ministry, evaluated and eventually approved the proposal. The properties are located in and around Connaught Place, Mathura Road, Lodhi Road, Man Singh Road, Pandara Road, Ashoka Road, Janpath, Parliament House, Karol Bagh, Sadar Bazaar, Daryaganj and Jangpura.
