2012-13 Economic Growth lowered to 4.5 percent from 5 percent
On account of subdued performance in agriculture, mining and manufacturing, the Government came out with the finding that the economy may have expanded by 4.5 per cent in 2012-13, compared with the earlier estimate of 5 per cent. The GDP, however, has been revised upwards to 6.7 per cent from 6.2 per cent, according to the estimates of National Income, Consumption Expenditure, Saving and Capital Formation. Growth in 2012-13 is the lowest in a decade. . The estimates for 2012-13 were released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
