27 shops evade property tax for two years
Around 27 shops that have evaded property tax for two years are now under the scanner of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).
The shops are located at Shagun, one of the commercial buildings in the posh Scheme No 54 area. It was recorded by an assistant revenue officer that 27 shops, sized between 700 to 3,200 square feet, had not deposited property tax for two years.
An IMC official has asked the assistant revenue officer to submit the reports for all the buildings within ten days.
The IMC secretary Rajangaonkar calculated around 25,000 commercial properties which were currently outside the property tax range. However, the actual building figure would be more than 1 lakh, he said.
