50 percent owners of MHADA flats are still waiting for possession

apartment in MumbaiMHADA has sold 11267 flat in Mumbai through lottery in last three years. It is found that still 5505 flat owners are waiting for getting the possession of the flats.

MHADA had announced the results of another lottery, though; none of the winners of the 2011 lottery have managed to get the keys to their new apartments. Similarly, 1,292 winners of the 3,449 flats sold in the 2010 lottery are still waiting for the day they can move into their new homes.

According to MHADA, they are trying to expedite the possession process, but other government agencies who are also involved, are delaying the process.

It is reported that 1033 houses in Mankhurd are ready, but the civic body is still to issue an occupation certificate (OC), which has prevented MHADA from handing them to the owners, who bought those flats in 2010 lottery.

The peoples, who have owned flats in MHADA apartments, are annoyed by this delay as they had paid the entire amount, and they are paying the installments as well as rents together.
