8-acre land to be auctioned by GLADA
The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) plans to auction the 8-acre land which currently houses the office of the canal and irrigation department on the main Ferozepur road. GLADA has kept the reserve price of this land as Rs 415 crore and plans to sell it as a single chunk for group housing project.
Kuldeep Singh, the Additional Commissioner (Administrator) confirmed the auction and said, “Out of the total area, 40% area will be developed as commercial and 60% as residential.”
The property is located in the heart of the city, opposite to the mini-secretariat and GLADA is expecting good response because of the strategic location of the property.
In addition to the offices of the irrigation and canal department, a rest house is also located on the land block. However, the buildings were declared unsafe and the offices of these departments had been shifted to Dugri phase 1 more than one-and-a-half-years back. The new office was made by GLADA only. Now, after the demolition of unsafe buildings had been completed, the department thought of auctioning it.
