Worse treated sewage system in Punjab
Lack of sewerage treatment plants in Punjab has lead residents illegally dump around 1,250 million litre of sewage.
This 60 percent of sewage which is illegally dumped is being a threat to environment in the state.
An academic study revealed a fact that untreated municipal sewerage is being disposed in rivers.
Ludhiana and Chandigarh are already rated for having poor facilities for treated sewage in the country, considering in increased pollution point of view.
Punjab Pollution Control Board has been surveying to study the present conditions of treated sewage.
