MMRDA razed out 600 hutments
Mumbai city development agency demolished around 600 hutments which was blocking the way of Sahar Elevated Road project.
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) who took initiative of demolishing these huts say that this has been a major demolition drive since 2008.
For now, MMRDA claim to have demolished 100 huts in Sambhaji Nagar, 150 huts in Ambedkar Nagar and around 350 hutments in Bamanwada.
However, MMRDA also made sure and rehabilitated the affected slum dwellers to resettlement colonies in Kurla and Oshiwara.
