BMC plans for better sewage system
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to slot Rs-400 crore project to stop the sewage problems in Mumbai city.
The project aims to improve the sewage system in low-lying western suburbs.
Sewage problem in city’s low lying areas are increasing with the population. Also 48 chronic flooding spots will be tacked off under the Mumbai Sewage Disposal Project Stage II.
The project will be mainly concentrated on Zone 5 areas like; Dahisar, Malad and Borivli. New sewer lines has been told to be laid from SN Dube Marg and Western Express Highway upto Dahisar bridge.
