Construction waste being dumped in open in Gurgaon

No Comments Sub Category:Gurgaon,Municipality Posted On: Jul 19, 2012

Disposal of construction waste from the site of multi-storied buildings is proving to be a severe problem in Gurgaon.

Among other debris, cement bags and concrete slabs are being dumped in the open in vacant plots or parks. While the garbage dump in the open can be noticed in alongside Faridabad-Gurgaon road or the Golf Course extension road, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) and the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is yet to take up a plan to tackle the issue.

The MCG had the plan to dump construction debris near Kachra Chowk which is a depression of 10 foot. Later plans included dumping the construction waste in a pit along the Gurgaon-Faridabad road which was later to be carried away by companies for recycling and then be made into tiles.

However, these plans were not materialized and the issue remains a challenge in the area.
