Chennai suburbs suffers from poor infrastructure
Chennai suburbs are witnessing rapid realty growth. However, deplorable infrastructure condition have been a menace that citizens have to grapple with.
Medavakkam has witnessed a real-estate boom in recent years with residential apartment blocks and individual houses sprouting up rapidly. Poor state of infrastructure, including unmotorable and poorly lit roads, and the poor disposal of waste has turned the place into a dumpyard and created a health hazard.
The condition of arterial Vadakkupattu Road and Medavakkam–Tambaram road are deplorable and during monsoon they create a lot of trouble for the commuters. Many vacant sites are being used as garbage-dumping grounds and a few with stagnant sewage have turned into breeding grounds for snakes, mosquitoes and pigs.
