Residents angry as builder did not provide amenities
The residents of ‘O’ block in IBC Platinum City apartments claimed that they are not provided any facilities which were promised by the builders at the time of buying flats in Bangalore.
The apartment is situated on HMT Link Road off Tumkur Road which has 616 flats with commercial complexes and a huge swimming pool. The ‘O’ block which was built by the same builders, who built the adjoining main Platinum City apartments.
The residents staying in this complex said that the builder thinks that they are from low income group and hence are isolated from the facilities. The builder has even fenced the road passing thorough the main Platinum City buildings to prevent them from entering the main complex that connects Tumkur Road by a shorter road.
The builder has collected Rs 50,000 from all the residents while booking and also Rs 1.33 lakh to provide all the basic facilities like power, water and sanitary connections, besides parking on the ground floor.
More than 450 families stay in the ‘O’ block and the builder has provided only one elevator. No fire safety installation has been done in the building, but the civic body has given approval to construct flats. Although several cases have been registered against the builder, no action has been taken yet.
Residents living in Platinum City said that, three years ago, the builders started constructing the club house which was never completed. And also the swimming pool did not have water for even a single day.
