Machines to keep a check on Noida air pollution levels
Noida- In a latest innovation, the regional office of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) launched two new portable air pollution monitoring systems to keep a check on the air pollution levels by appropriate monitoring and analysing the samples from different locations of the city.
In a sample test by the machines, the air quality in Noida has been tested from areas like Sector 1 and sector 6. The machines are set to be operational from first week of January. It was stated by the UPPCB officials that the portable machines were used in different locations to collect data which will further augment the analysis sought from the samples.
It did not take a long time for the two monitoring stations to detect the overall air quality levels within Noida city as they are situated closer to each other. As per a UPPCB official, the air quality in the city can be detected by collecting samples from different locations at different timings.
The two machines will be used to collect the air samples for verification of the amount of nitrogen and sulphur oxide. Further, the samples will also determine the content of the respirable suspended particulate matters (RSPM) in different parts of the city.
The machines will be operational in areas from Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Phase-II and City Center excluding the industrial sectors by collecting air samples. It was quoted by an official that almost all the areas of the city will be monitored for air pollution but areas with more complaints will be majorly focused on.
