North and South Delhi witness demolition of illegal houses
Around 94 properties under the jurisdiction of South and North Delhi that had flouted norms have been demolished by the civic authorities.
Around 19 properties in Panchsheel Vihar, Masjid Moth, Chirag Delhi, Nag Complex and Neb Sarai are demolished by the South corporation, while North civic body sent its bulldozers to 75 properties in City, Rohini, Civil Line, Karol Bagh and Narela zones in Delhi.
This action was conducted by the building departments of the respective zones with the help of the local police.
According to a South corporation official, rampant construction are being carried out by building mafia in several parts of the city. The official said the civic body is not going to allow such activities.
He also added that they are going to intensify the drive by demolishing various unauthorized structures in the near future.
A squad of the South civic body had pulled down 10 structures and this drive will continue for some days until all the illegal buildings are demolished. Special notices are being issued so that no more such illegal construction takes place.
