New property tax website launched by Pune Municipal Corporation
The property tax department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started its own website to resolve property tax issues of the citizens. Through the website, the agency will address concerns like faulty tax bills and cases of incorrect imposition of tax.
PMC’s tax department head Hemant Nikam explains that the property tax department’s information was available on the PMC portal earlier. As most of the citizens found it difficult to access the information online, the agency decided to launch a new website. The website will also help citizens to file their property tax online.
A person’s real or personal property attracts property tax. The tax is calculated multiplying the fair market value of the property by the current tax rate. The agency gets a lot of complaints every year about faulty bills. Nikam assures that the new website will help in this matter.
