Plots at reasonable prices is a dream in Bangalore
If you are thinking of owning a plot at a reasonable price then this is not going too fulfilled sooner or later. The BDA has not delivered a single project in the past 11 years. The recent controversy over the de notification of the land meant for the Arkavathy Layout has dealt another blow to the people’s aspirations for a government plot.
Last time the civic agency distributed sites was in the year 2003. Since the past 11 years the city has grown to 850 sqkm from the 226 sqkm and the population has increased to around nine million from about five million. However the BDA could not deliver the Arkavathy project announced when SM Krishna was the chief minister or even the five projects that were trumpeted later.
The inability to identity litigation free land, lack of target timetable, de notification scams, red tape and cost escalation due to the delay has contributed to the agency’s failure. This is one of the main reasons why plots have not been available at lesser prices since the past 11 years. Identification of free land should be noted in order to do away with the problem.
