Delhi/NCR: DDA likely to extend last date for Housing Scheme 2014

No Comments Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Realty News Posted On: Sep 30, 2014

According to a senior official of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the deadline for the submission of applications for the Authority’s Housing Scheme 2014 may be extended.

The DDA had launched the Housing Scheme 2014 on September 1. The scheme was initially scheduled to end on September 30, but that deadline was extended till October 9, because of a fortnight-long slump due to the ‘Shraddh’ period. However, the deadline may again be extended to cater to the expected deluge of applications.

With the DDA expecting a heavy rush of applications in the remaining days of the Housing Scheme 2014, the deadline is likely to be extended.

Though DDA’s vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar told Hindustan Times that a final decision of the extension of the deadline for the submission of applications for Housing Scheme 2014 will be taken by the Authority on October 9, the last day of the scheme, the unidentified senior DDA official has revealed that the scheme will likely be extended by a few days or one week.

With the official noting that there are “quite a few bank holidays in the remaining period of the scheme,” and that people will have “very little time to submit forms,” Kumar said: “We will certainly extend the last date if we feel there is too much rush on the last few days or if there is any problem or if a lot of people are still waiting to fill forms.”
