Discom declares Power Hike
In New Delhi the power distribution wing Discom is again going ahead in increasing the power tariff even after a 22% percent hike recently. Until the new tariff announcements the Delhi power supply authority is likely to face frequent fluctuations in the power supply. One of the Discom official reported saying that the cost to be paid by the Delhi power supply wing for 15,000 million units till the later part of the year 2012 will be 55 paise/unit from the actual current costs. The Delhi Transco claims to be taking this hike as a reasonable one granted by Discom. On the other part of this issue the consumer activists seems to be continuing the protest and they have decided to have a day long protest against the tariff hike near Jantarmantar and also the famous personalities are seem to be heading this protest.
The protest activists are far ahead moving towards the politicians and also other government officials who are all in a higher position also to including MLA, MP’s. The Residents Welfare Association (RWA) to join for the protest is expected this weekend. One of the sources reported saying that the frequent increase in the power tariff would result in the increased outflow of Rs. 789 crores, the same is expected to be paid by the Discom authority for the 2012 financial year ahead.
