Its almostĀ  an year since the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) had planned to install equipments to gouge the pollution levels in the air of Gurgaon, however the project is still in stalls. The plan was proposed on December 2010 to check ambient air quality. The programme will come under the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) National Air Quality Monitoring Programme designed to check ambient air quality. The programme is a nationwide initiative. The HSPCB has handed the work of installation to some private companies including Hero Honda and Maruti.

The Regional Officer of HSPCB Mr Pradeep Yadav had said that the delay in the programme is due to the some dispute. He disclosed that a team of CPCB had already visited Gurgaon and had identified the zones for installing the devices. The equipment will be installed in Vikas Sadan in old Gurgaon, other possible sites in the district for the installation are Farrukhnagar, Bilaspur and Udyog Vihar. He added that as Diwali is approaching the department hopes to install the equipments in four or five major locations to determine the extent of pollution in the air of the city during the festival.
