Garbage bins scam: FIR against IAS officers
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed an FIR against few civic officials in connection with alleged irregularities in the purchase of garbage bins for solid waste management programme.
FIR was registered against Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Ajay Bhadoo, his predecessor Dr Dinesh Brahmbhatt and three other civic officials under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act two days after the local Sessions Court ordered an investigation by the ACB in the alleged Rs 5-crore scam.
A deputy commissioner Pares Vyas, deputy executive engineer B B Dholaria along with sanitary inspector Jayntialal Vaja have been named in a complaint filed by Bharta Tanna, an employee of the state Roads and Buildings Department from Rajkot.
Manji Kalawadia, Ravi Associates’ owner that had bagged the contract to supply 240 bins, has also been named.
