Affordable housing allotment norms changed by BDA

The Bangalore Development Authority has changed the rules for allotment of affordable apartments in Bangalore for the economically weaker section (EWS).

BDA recently took up the residential apartment project for constructing 30,000 flats in 17 different places in Bangalore.

According to the new rule ‘only people residing in BBMP’’s jurisdiction for not less than 10 years prior to the date of registration are eligible for applying for the flat’.

The new policy also says that the applicants must reside within the limit of BBMP.

With this new rule many poor people who are living outside the city limits, as they cannot afford to pay the huge rent in the city, will lose their eligibility to apply for the flats in Bangalore.
