Affordable housing for all- ASSOCHAM speaks out
Everyone needs a roof over the head, not just the ones who can shell out big bucks. When we look at a home, we look at it as an investment and one that would be affordable, emancipating decent living and conditions too.
Assocham now speaks out in favor of affordable housing, and wants measures for the same to be taken. Some of them as named are;
- Granting infrastructure status to the housing domains and sectors
- Land records digitalization
- Bringing down the stringent norms related to FDI
- Bringing down the real estate stringent norms
- Letting pensioners and insurance holders invest in such sectors too, says a source
There has been a tremendous slowdown when it comes to housing and real estate, buying and selling in the past few months. The High Net Worth Individuals have invested with a clause of gaining higher rates and costs, which has made property prices touch the sky in the past, say sources.
Appropriate and adequate measures need to be taken, which would bring back affordable housing for a large number of citizens on a tight budget. This would help the GDP too and also many who want better living standards as well, says a source from Assocham.
