Airport Express Metro line with Delhi-Alwar rapid rail to be linked by DMRC
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been making new ways in order to link the Airport Express Metro Railway Line with the high speed rail link. This has occurred despite having the approval of the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to establish a rail link from Alwar that is supposed to come to an end in Gurgaon.
The DMRC has also said that the Delhi Alwar link which is about 180 kilometres long can become profitable if it is integrated with the line of the Airport. This would be an amazing thing indeed since the latter suffers a loss of about 4 crores every month.
Recently the DMRC has also come up with a new DPR which has different options of funding. In order to get it sanctioned, it will be sent to the Haryana Urban Development Authority. This piece of information was given away by a DMRC official who didn’t want his identity to be disclosed.
There will be an extension required of about 15 km by the Airport Express line in order to reach the IFFCO Chowk. This work is definitely going to cost a lot of money. The senior officials have recently said that by the time we reach 2019, the three corridors will be finished. And while that happens, important issues such as the vital sanctions from the state governments and matters of funding are yet to be solved.
